  • Routine is good but not too much of it. If your child doesn't feel like eating the entire four course meal today, then it can be a one off case and you should let it go. Try not to make an issue out of the fact that they aren't sticking to the routine meals and quantities if it happens once in a while.





  • Choices should be limited for the best. This way your child knows that they are free to a certain extent and you know that the choice doesn't really make much of a difference. For example, ask them to choose between oatmeal and muesli. No matter what, it will be accompanied by milk and the nutritive value of both is close.





  • If you want your child to eat something, you should be setting an example by having it yourself. For example, many children dislike vegetables. You can have a bowlful and tell them that they are not the only ones.
